I started my WillPowders journey around 2-3 months ago when I was getting frustrated with looking and feeling more and more puffy! I’ve been slim and active throughout my 30s and early 40s competing in marathons and triathlons. I also used to freelance as a fitness coach before Covid lockdowns hit. During the last year I’d felt myself putting on some extra pounds and feeling more and more unhealthy. This has coincided with going back to university to retrain and peri-menopause hitting in my early 40s after having my son. I just figured it was all part of getting older and being more sedentary as a student and that I couldn’t fight it.
I heard about WillPowders from a colleague when I told her I was looking into intermittent fasting as a way to lose some weight. I very quickly ordered the starter pack with MCT keto and collagen powders and read Davina’s book. I’ve now added in the protein powder, ElectroTide and I love the Rise & Shine for when I fancy a few glasses of wine! Even my six year old son loves the vanilla protein powder with Greek yoghurt and is benefitting from the recipes I am getting from the FFS FB group.
I’ve lost over half a stone in these two months and reached my ideal weight. More importantly I feel so much better! I don’t want to lose too much weight; I just want to continue feeling good and in control of my health. My fitness routine has got back on track – my running has improved and I’ve been consistently doing strength training with my core and upper body strength improving massively. I feel better than I did five years ago!
I’ve gained so many tips, encouragement, inspiration and meal ideas from the FB group; it’s a really supportive community. I’ve ditched the refined sugar, cakes and processed food and embraced intermittent fasting as well as healthier eating. My taste buds have changed and I’m really loving this new way of life.
