Confidence Rituals to Make You Feel Like Yourself Again
Confidence Rituals to Make You Feel Like Yourself Again
Have you joined the Confidence Club yet? This September, we’re removing the pressure to look, feel, or act a certain way, and we’re returning to what makes us feel good. This is all about your confidence, your rituals, and your rules. No reinvention required.
To help you find yourself and your routines again, we’ve pulled together confidence rituals that we swear by. We’re not advocates for overhauling your whole routine to make space for the latest wellness trend; treat these as inspiration. The goal is feeling good, without the pressure.
Mind and Clarity
Your mind and clarity play a huge role in your confidence; after all, when you have a clear head, you have a better day. Here are some small habits that we’ve been practising to give our mind and clarity the space for everything else that life has to throw our way.
Feel-Good Movement
There’s no denying that moving your body is the ultimate way to find clarity. When we move, our brains release the mood-boosting chemicals serotonin and dopamine, which can help to reduce stress and improve focus.
But whatever movement you choose to do, it should feel intentional and be something you actually enjoy. Less of Instagram's latest exercise fad, and more of the exercise you look forward to. Less 5am workouts if they’re not your thing, and more exercise when it works for your day. Avoid setting yourself up for feeling like you’ve failed, but if you do want to try something new, give yourself the space and grace to stop if it doesn’t work for you
Talk to Yourself
Remember a few years ago when the ‘lucky girl theory’ had the internet in a chokehold? Well, despite it being a social media trend, it definitely has legs. The core mantra is to remind yourself how lucky you are, and how things do actually work out in the end. It’s thought that shifting your mindset from a negative to a positive outlook can help to improve the way you think about yourself and your life. But don’t stop at talking to yourself.
Daily affirmations and journaling are backed by psychologists as a way to reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. Whether you want to journal about how you’re feeling, write down your worries, or simply use it as a way to organise your thoughts, talking to yourself-either out loud or on paper–is a great way to clear your head and find clarity.
Dopamine Boosters
Dopamine is the feel-good hormone that we’re all chasing most of the time, and let’s be real, when we feel good, we usually feel pretty confident. But rather than chasing dopamine, there are boosters that you can easily incorporate into your day to leave a lasting confidence. Here are a few of our favourites:
- Morning sun on your face
- Listening to nostalgic music
- Laughing with friends
- Giving someone a compliment
- Lighting a candle
- Walking and chatting with friends
- Making a home-cooked meal
- Finishing a shower with 15 seconds of cold
- Dancing and singing - even if it’s for an empty audience in your kitchen
Nourish
One of the main rules of the Confidence Club is that we nourish; we don’t punish. Feeling confident starts with what you give your body, because when we feed our body the right stuff, we fuel our confidence with the right stuff. Here are our favourite nourish tips…
G-Help
G-Help has become a staple at WillPowders HQ, and for very good reason. Designed to be an all-in-one nutritional support for people taking weight loss medications, the formula features plenty of goodness to nourish the body, no matter the diet plan.
With natural coconut water and sea salt to hydrate, digestive enzymes to calm the gut, B-vitamins and magnesium bisglycinate for an energy boost, and many more vital nutrients to target your muscles, bones, skin and eye health, the blend is our number one nourish hack that we’ll never stop recommending.
Protein
You’ve probably heard so much about protein that you don’t need us to tell you how important it is. So, we won’t give you rhyme and verse, but just another reminder that protein is vital for building, repairing, and maintaining nearly every part of the body, and you should be aiming to eat/drink a minimum of 0.75 to 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day (about 45g - 55g).
Now that’s said and done, here’s how you can easily add 17g of protein to your nourish routine with a single scoop… Yep, it’s the WillPowder’s Protein Powder. In true WillPowder’s style, the formula features no nasties, no fillers, no faff, just good ingredients with a purpose. And with over seven flavours to choose from, meeting your protein goals will never be easier or more delicious.
Hydration
Again, we know you already know that hydration is absolutely everything when it comes to nourishing your body, and pretty much doing anything at all. Water makes up about 60% of our body weight, and without it, our cells can’t function, repair, or sustain themselves, and every single part of our body suffers without proper hydration.
On the positive side, when we do hydrate our bodies properly, we can expect more energy, better focus, smoother digestion, healthier skin, hair, and nails, plus many more benefits. So, on that note, how are your hydration levels? If your answer is, ‘could be better,’ then meet our ElectoTides. Made with coconut water for added antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, these are the ultimate hydration hack we have. You’ll never look back.
Glow
There’s no denying that when you look good, you feel good, and that’s where many of us pull our confidence from. But beauty is only part of the story, and your real glow starts from within. So, for the final time, here are our tips for creating a confidence glow that will help you feel like yourself again.
Collagen
Collagen has become a staple of many kitchen counters, and there are many (many, many, many) reasons for that. When taken consistently, collagen can contribute to skin elasticity and hydration, help to maintain healthy hair and nails, and can aid in muscle, tendon and ligament repair. Not bad for a scoop a day, eh?
WillPowder’s Bovine Collagen Peptides Powder is something of a celeb in the collagen world. With over 11,000 reviews and awards under its belt, the formula uses type I and type III collagen to ensure every scoop is packed with benefits. So, when we say glow, we mean glow.
Sleep
Sleep is SO important for literally everything we do. It’s not just a lie we tell to small children so parents can have an extra hour to relax before bed. Getting a solid eight hours of sleep every night allows your body and brain to repair and recharge. From our memory and brain function to our mood and emotions, and even our skin, good, quality sleep is the number one glow giver.
The difficulty is, good sleep can be hard. We’re living in an ‘always-on’ world full of blue light, stimulants and distractions, so getting a solid 100 sleep score is tough. But we do have some trusty tips that could help you on your way:
- Dim the lights as it gets dark outside to support natural melatonin production.
- Aim to be asleep and wake up at the same time each day (including weekends).
- Cut off caffeine by 3pm.
- Keep your bedroom cool (around 15–19°c).
- Write down tomorrow’s tasks and stop thinking about them.
- Put your phone away, even in a different room, and avoid blue light for at least an hour before sleep.
- Take a warm shower before bed.
Self-Care Your Way
Whether it’s an everything shower, an at-home facial, applying false tan, or having a long bath, taking time out of your week to pamper yourself will give you a glow the next morning. And there is science in that!
Emerging studies show that intentional acts of self-care can help to lower cortisol, increase serotonin, and slow the heart rate. Self-care acts could even help to deepen breathing, improve oxygenation, and support barrier repair. So, don’t feel guilty for putting the kids to bed early and having an hour to make yourself and your skin feel great - science says it’s worth it.
