Ditch the sugary sports drinks! This Citrus Berry Electrolyte Drink is a delicious alternative, perfect for keeping your kids hydrated. Made with natural ingredients like coconut water for potassium and a pinch of salt to restore sodium, it's a replenishing hit.

This recipe works for kids of any age, but if yours are over 12 and you want to speed things up a bit, swap out the stevia and salt for half a sachet of our ElectroTide in your favourite flavour.

Get on your shopping list or raid your cupboard

  • 500ml still or sparkling water
  • 500ml coconut water
  • 2 tbsp honey or 1/8 tsp pure stevia
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt or Celtic sea salt
  • 75g strawberries or blueberries
  • Juice of 1 small orange or half a lemon

Method

  1. Place the berries and coconut water in a blender and blend until smooth. If you prefer a smooth drink, strain through a fine sieve; otherwise, keep the pulp for fibre and flavour.
  2. Pour the berry-coconut mix into a large jug. Add the cold water, honey (or stevia), and salt.
  3. Squeeze in the orange or lemon juice and stir well until honey and salt are completely dissolved. If using stevia, stir until evenly distributed – it dissolves quickly.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or add ice cubes.
  5. Top with sparkling or still water and serve.
